Hey! This post is really old. You should take it with a grain of salt.

So I'm reading the Sunday Times the other day, and I happen across a small review of the iPhone. Nothing big, you know just 2 full pages. This begs the question: What exactly is so special about the iPhone that it needs 2 pages in the newspaper to tell people about it?

What does it do? Plays music and videos- oh wait, my phone does that!

Browses the web through an overpriced data connection- oh wait, my phone does that too!

All the little widgety things like stocks and weather- oh wait, my phone can get stocks and weather too!

I can even install applications on my ordinary phone!

So why all the fuss over the iPhone? I put it down to 2 things:

  1. The user interface is really slick- even I have to say that
  2. People idolize Apple for no tangible reason. I mean really people- It's just a phone.
