Quite busy, actually.

28 November 200811:56AMlife

Hey! This post is really old. You should take it with a grain of salt.

As of late I have been Quite Busy (that almost typo'd as quite busty... now there's a Freudian slip...).

I've got this massive S+E project due on Monday which I have yet to start, although I have done the research for it, but I have the feeling I'm going to enjoy it as I got to pick my topic and it is, in fact, the history of Science Fiction. Yes, I know I am a massive nerd. Thank you.

So anyway, they decided with one term left of Year 10 that, "Oh, I know, lets give them EXAMS!", which is a truly stupid thing to do with ten weeks to go. This is what we call 'poor planning', children, and it is a hallmark of our education system, unfortunately. Thus, everyone is rushed and stressed and panicking because now we have to fit everything in within the last few weeks. Next week is project presentation and French exam Monday, English in-class essay Tuesday, combined humanities exam Thursday and Physics test Friday. The practical upshot of all this is that I really shouldn't be writing this and thus you, the reader, should feel very privileged to have received some of my precious precious time.

Exams, actually, are interesting beasts. The amount of paranoia is just... well, paranoid. You can't take a pencil case in, unless it's clear. You aren't allowed labels on your water bottles, which also have to be clear. Any attempt at communicating in any way with another person, be it a glance or a meaningful cough ('meaning' may be actual or imaginary) will get your paper ripped up in front of you. How long, I wonder, before you have to provide full fingerprints, DNA testing, then strip naked and have a full cavity search, then perform the exam naked in a blank room with nothing but the paper and a state-approved pencil... I give it five years, maybe less. You heard it here first.

Anyway, back to work.
